Post Award Administration:
Post Award is responsible for the management of all contracts and grants after award including monitoring and tracking of all required progress reports and resolution of technical issues. In addition to approval of all expenditures, the post-award unit provides ongoing support to assist Principal Investigators with general administrative issues, including staffing levels consistent with the intent of the award.
The Principal Investigator (PI) will meet with Post Award to discuss new award setups, personnel distributions, and any special needs and/or restrictions before the implementation of the grant/contract. Thereafter the PI will meet on an as-needed basis, typically quarterly, to review spending patterns and progress regarding the obligations of the award. Any budgeting requests, moving funds from one area to another, will require assistance from this unit. All travel is reviewed and approved by Post Award as well.
This unit also meets with the PI to assist in the submission of noncompeting segments of the award and any close-out requirements including the final progress report and invention disclosures.
We provide ongoing service to our Scientists to facilitate the least amount of burden in the implementation of their scientific progress.
