Abstract
The IT Committee has been working on an upgraded wiki that will replace our old wiki and will serve as SKERI’s intranet – the main repository for internal SKERI information (such as the company directory, links to forms, HR information, research notes, etc.) that staff can view, share and edit.
Here are the most important points to know about the upgrade:
· We have switched over to the new wiki as of Fri Jul 13
· The link to the new wiki will remain the same as it is now: https://wiki.ski.org
· The wiki will be accessible from anywhere in the world, but to do so each user will have to login using their
SKERI email credentials (username and password). The login will be needed whether you are inside or out-
side of SKERI.
· Note that usernames for the wiki don’t include @ski.org, so for instance mine is coughlan, not coughlan@ski.org .
Additional details about wiki upgrade:
· All internal SKERI information from www.ski.org will eventually be moved to the wiki, which is accessible only to
SKERI staff. www.ski.org will then only contain information that is intended for the public.
· Once you’ve logged onto the wiki, you will be able to view all the pages on it. However, some pages (mostly admin)
only allow editing by a limited subset of people.
· The wiki is for internal use only, and sharing the contents with people who are not current SKERI staff members is
prohibited.
· The content of the new wiki is still being created, with much of the important content coming in the next month or
two.
· The new wiki will have a new look and feel compared with the old wiki, but the content will initially be the same (the
old wiki content has already been migrated to the new wiki).
· The old wiki has been frozen as https://legacywiki.ski.org , which is read-only and only accessible from inside SKERI.
Eventually we will get rid of this.
