Abstract
The Web Team is happy to announce the newest improvements to the ski.org website. We have updated the format and sorting of the Project pages. There are several specific changes to which we would like to draw your attention.
1. The projects can now be designated as “Active” or “Completed”. The designation appears next to each project and also affects how they are sorted on the various pages (Profile, Lab, Projects). We encourage everyone to log in and for each project select the appropriate status. The project status menu item is available on the edit page, directly below the project title field. Projects without an active or complete flag will be sorted in a third, miscellaneous category and not sorted correctly.
2. The previous “Team Leader” field has now been replaced by a “Principal Investigator” field. Additionally we have added the ability to have more than one Principal Investigator for each project. We ask that as you add the active status, you also check the PI field (fourth, below Title, Project Status, Labs and Centers) and add the correct PI (or multiple PIs as appropriate). If the PI field is left blank in the edit menu, a Principal Investigator will not appear on that project.
3. As you visit the pages of each of your projects to make these edits, we ask that you take this opportunity to go through the other fields and ensure that other information is up to date. This information includes fields on the main edit page, such as Editors (who can edit the project page), Collaborators (who, besides the PI at the Institute works on this project), External Collaborators (who outside of the Institute contributes to the project), Alumni (who used to work on the project) and other fields that can be selected, such as an Image for the project page, funding that is supporting the project, etc.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
