Abstract
Abstract:
You are not alone in your visual impairment - Globally, 285 million people are visually impaired of whom 39 million are blind. Today we will discuss where we, in the United States, are in relation to the global burden of visual impairment andblindness. Where in the world are these people, what are their conditions, are they treatable, what is the economic cost? We'll talk about what is being done about this. Finally, I'll pose some important questions about how best to tackle thisburden in the years to come.
