Hello there! My name is Dev and I am a research assistant at Smith-Kettlewell. I work for Dr.Stephen Heinen in his lab studying eye movement behavior and previously worked for Dr.Arvind Chandna in his oculomotor research lab. Outside of this I am involved with organizing and moderating the virtual Brown Bag, Colloquium and CVI@SKI meetings.  I am a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (class of 2018) with a bachelor of science in Molecular and Cellular Biology (focus in neuroscience) and a minor in Chemistry. I will be starting a Masters of Science in Information and Data Science at University of California-Berkeley in August of 2025 with the expectation of graduating in December of 2027. 

 

My current responsibilities Dr.Stephen Heinen's lab are: 

  • Data collection and analysis
  • Conduct consent discussions for all lab participants
  • Aid in the production of manuscripts under guidance from Dr.Heinen
  • Management of administrative paperwork (consent forms, payments, lab safety checks etc.)

My responsibilities in the Dr.Arvind Chandna's lab were:

  • Moderate and help organize CVI@SKI meetings
  • Data collection and analysis for Dr.Chandna's oculomotor lab
  • Conduct consent discussions for all lab participants
  • Aid in clincial data collection (vision tests and clinical history)
  • Aid in production of manuscripts under guidance from Dr.Chandna
  • Analysis of data in Dr.Chandna's VEP lab
  • Management of administrative paperwork (consent forms, payments, lab safety checks etc.)
