Getting to SKERI
Public Transit - BART or SF Muni
We are located at 2318 Fillmore on the east side of Fillmore mid-block between Clay and Washington streets, one and a half blocks north of Sacramento. Thus we can be reached via buses on Fillmore and Sacramento as follows:
From the East Bay or south of downtown - Get off at the Embarcadero station (the first one in San Francisco if you are coming from the East Bay).
After off-boarding the vehicle, walk east on the platform (from the East Bay or Muni-Bayview area, walk toward the rear of the train; from Daly City or Muni-"inbound", walk toward the front of the train). Take an "up" escalator that continues east.
BART travelers have sets of exit gates both left and right as you leave the escalator; use the left (north) exits to place yourself on the Drumm Street side of Market Street. (MUNI travelers have only one exit gate, and must continue east using the corridor on the left to find this exit). Take these stairs or escalator up. When you arrive at the top, Market Street is on your right.
Turn right at the top, then immediately right again. With Market on your left, walk to the first corner (Drumm). Cross, turn right immediately and walk to the first corner (California). Cross, turn left, walk one block to Davis. Turn right, walk one block to Sacramento. Cross Sacramento. Turn right immediately; the bus shelter for the "1-California" is directly in front of you. (If you find the mailboxes, you are just past the shelter). Fare is $2.00.
Get off the 1-California bus at Fillmore - This is a "far side" stop, so walk back towards the rear of the bus and turn left on Fillmore. Walk uphill on Fillmore one block to Clay. Cross both ways with stop signs, and continue uphill on Fillmore.
From Fillmore/Clay - The sidewalk (when trailing towards the right) will level off four times. At the fourth is our office at 2318 Fillmore, just after our garage entrance, past Bank of America. If you get to Washington Street, you have gone about ½ block too far.
From northbound Van Ness Avenue buses - Get off at California Street. Walk along Van Ness one block, in the same direction as the bus. Cross Sacramento and turn right to the bus stop. Take the "1-California" to Fillmore. Continue with the directions "Get off the 1-California bus at Fillmore" above.
From the Mission district: Take the "22-Fillmore" bus. Get off at Sacramento and walk one block in the same direction on Fillmore (uphill). Cross Sacramento, walk one block, then cross Clay. Continue with the directions "From Fillmore/Clay" above.
From Marin county: Take a Golden Gate Transit bus going to the San Francisco Marina District. It will travel on Lombard; get off at Fillmore. The stop is on the "near" side of Fillmore. Walk the same direction the bus was going to the corner of Fillmore. Turn right onto Fillmore; the 22 bus shelter is just in front of you.
Get off the 22 at Sacramento. Walk back towards the rear of the bus uphill one block to Clay. Cross both ways with stop signs, and continue uphill on Fillmore. Continue with the directions "From Fillmore/Clay" above.
From San Francisco airport
Shuttle: The easiest way to get from the airport is by using one of the door-to-door van shuttle services, such as SuperShuttle. After collecting your luggage follow signs to the shuttle's designated pickup area. No reservations are necessary. Cost is approximately $17 per person.
Taxi: Fare to SKERI is approximately $50, before tip.
Rapid transit: BART offers service from San Francisco International Airport. Follow the airport signs to the BART platform. Your ticket can be purchased with cash or credit card. (Your trip to or from the airport can also be planned using the "Transit Trip Planner" at the Bay Area Transit Information website 511.org.)
